Summer holidays are approaching, and the risk of scams targeting travelers is increasing. Cybercriminals are lurking not only on social media but also on official sites like Booking.com. They are most active on social networks, where they create fake airline profiles, for example, on the platform X (formerly Twitter). The British organization Which? has warned of numerous fake airline profiles. Fake profiles are common for airlines like WizzAir, British Airways, EasyJet, Ryanair, and Virgin Atlantic. Reporting fraudulent accounts is currently ineffective, as many remain active.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sensitive personal information is highly valuable on the black market, where it can be misused for creating fake identities and financial fraud. Fake accounts also damage the reputation of airlines, which urge travelers not to share personal information via social networks.<\/p>\n

Scams also appear on official sites like Booking.com. Cybercriminals infiltrate hotel administrative systems and exploit them for fraudulent payments. They send staff links to malicious software, which grants them access to Booking.com accounts and allows communication with customers.<\/p>\n

So, be cautious and check where you send your money. In case of doubt, it is best to contact the hotel directly and verify the payment.<\/p>\n
